Comments From Attorneys and Paralegals About

Litigation By The Numbers®-Fourth Edition

"I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I rely on 'Litigation By The Numbers' in my litigation practice.  I have been a construction litigator for over 27 years, and there is one thing that I have learned and that is how inportant it is for the attorney to be knowledgeable concerning deadlines, forms and formats and not rely solely on support staff or more experienced attorneys.  I know that a lot of attorneys rely on their secretaries to keep track of this information but I have spoken to many attorneys who have horror stories of losing a secretary and finding themselves lost and unable to function. ..."  "As a solo moving to California from another state [Atlanta, GA], Litigation by the Numbers has been one of my most useful tools. I keep it behind my desk and refer to it for every filing and pleading. It really helped me get my practice up to speed. Thanks."    Steve Hoffman, Esq.

"This book has made training legal staff on how to do their daily tasks immeasurably easier.  I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to minimize the time necessary to get the staff up to speed on legal procedures."  Steven G. Mehta, Esq.

"I have been a litigation paralegal for 15 years and just completed law school. This book was used as a text for one of my courses. It is well organized and takes the reader step by step through the basic litigation process in California.  Many paralegal courses in Civ Pro use as their text a Continuing Education of the Bar book by Weil and Brown's entitled "Civil Procedure Before Trial." Written by two judges, it is a three volume encyclopedia -- virtually the bible for civil procedure in California Courts -- and is cited in case law as authority where no actual case law on a topic exists. Where Civ Pro Before Trial contains most of the possible permeutations of legal issues involved in prossessing a lawsuit, this book is much more simple. It is more like a stereo manual as compared to the Weil and Brown encyclopaedic tomb. For a paralegal, new attorney or student of the law, it is an excellent resource and falls into the KISS category of book -- keep it simple stupid."   Jason P. Gold, Long Beach, CA

"If you are a law student or a new lawyer who actually litigates, you need to read this. Where else are you going to get one book to tell you everything you need to know? Oh, and the price is right! "  Jonathan Stein, Esq., Elk Grove, CA

"I have practiced as a litigator and transactional attorney for over 35 years in several areas of law. I bought the first edition of Litigation By The Numbers back in 1983, and now use the Fourth Edition. I use it to quickly identify the codes and rules relevant to the particular procedure I'm working on, and ensure that I don't skip any steps or miss any filing and service deadlines.  It's unquestionably a valuable addition to my reference materials, which I would highly recommend to both new and experienced attorneys."  Myer Sankary, Esq., Los Angeles, CA

"I had to do a fax filing of a demurrer yesterday.  I flipped to the right section in your book and, voila!  Everything was right there, with simple, easy-to-understand and comprehensive step-by-step instructions.  I have to say, I honestly think your book is even more valuable than Rutter and CEB.  No lawyer should be without it.  This book should be at the top of the list of gifts to give any budding lawyer who has just pased the bar.  It's the gift that keeps on giving!  Julie, many thanks for writing this book!  You've helped lawyers everywhere!"  Eugene Lee, Los Angeles, California

“When I first bought your publication, I had planned on keeping it myself, but the boss saw it, reviewed it, and reimbursed me for it.  Your publication is a jewel.  We use it all the time.  It is an easy to read and understandable, comprehensive resource.  In fact today I am figuring out how to serve someone who is avoiding service of process.  Once again, your publication has proven to be a quick and thorough reference.  Thank you so very much for your assistance.”  Linda Fox, Paralegal, Placerville, CA
